First day of Academic Session lessons: September 11

*Kitsap Young Musicians Festival:  November 4
This event is open to all students who are ready to perform a piece, but not all students can be placed on the program due to time constraints. Duets/ensembles are welcome. Accompanist will be needed.

Thanksgiving Break: November 22-24
No lessons Wednesday-Thursday-Friday.

Holiday Music at the Kitsap Mall: TBA
and/or
Christmas Ensembles House Concerts: week of December 11 TBD

Christmas/New Year Break: Monday December 18 – Tuesday January 2

*KMTA Music Artistry Program for Strings:  March 1-2 TBD
For intermediate to advanced students. An opportunity to prepare for an evaluated performance with a visiting artist.

*KMTA Honors Recital: Saturday March 16 TBD
For 1-2 selected students from the MAP event.

*KMTA Performance Competitions: Saturday March 23 TBD
Registration dates to be posted when available.

Spring Break, no lessons: April 1-5

*KMTA Music Literacy Program:  April 20 or 27 TBD
A “track and field” day for students. Includes demonstration of level-designated skills in many areas of musical knowledge, solo performances, carnival games, food and more. Registrations due in early March. More information here.

*Spring Recital(s): Saturday, June 1
The culmination of the Academic Session lessons. Students perform a capstone piece to show their progress through the year. Includes presentation of awards, and refreshments. *If more than 18 students will participate, 2 recitals will be scheduled.

Last day of Academic Session lessons: Monday, June 10 

Summer Session:  begins June 24. Lessons can be scheduled on an open calendar for July-August, available in early June.

Fall Registration Deadlines for priority placement: Continuing students, August 1 / Summer-start students, August 15. New students will be placed after August 15.
